Sawa has signed onto a letter in support of Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRDs) in Congress that would block the delivery by President Trump of an additional $12B of U.S. weapons to Israel. The JRDs also prohibit training equipment and U.S. software, engineering, technology, and logistics support.

We would like to alert you to a time-sensitive action item that will take only a few minutes.
What's this all about?
Senator Bernie Sanders intends to bring a vote to the Senate floor this week on his two new Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRDs). These JRDs will block the US from sending an additional $8.8 billion in weapons to Israel.
Massachusetts Senators Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren voted Yes on Bernie’s JRDs this fall, which did not pass. However, Markey and Warren have not yet signaled their intent to support these two current JRDs.
We have been devastated by the destruction in Gaza, and this is a rare opportunity to block a shipment of these weapons that continue to be used against Palestinian lives. AIPAC and other organizations are encouraging their followers to call their Senators to ask them to oppose these JRDS. We must speak up!
We need our Senators to vote Yes, and we also need them to encourage their colleagues to do so. The vote may happen as soon as this Thursday, April 3.
What should we do?
Call Markey and Warren to ask them to block the shipment of an additional $8.8 billion in weapons to Israel by voting YES on Bernie’s two JRDs.
We encourage adding a sentence about why this is important to you. For example:
The United States must not provide arms to countries that violate humanitarian laws
This sets a dangerous precedent for Trump sending weapons without going through Congress (Trump is bypassing the Congressional review process)
Our tax dollars must not be used for the continued destruction of Gaza
You can also ask our Senators to vocally support Bernie’s JRDs and encourage their colleagues to support the JRDs as well.
