Join members of Sawa: Newton Area Alliance for Peace and Justice on Sunday, May 4, for a discussion of Nathan Thrall’s A Day in the Life of Abed Salama: Anatomy of a Jerusalem Tragedy, winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Nonfiction. Thrall’s gripping book tells the heartbreaking story of a fiery bus crash that unravels a tangle of lives, loves, enmities, and histories and exposes the deadly consequences of apartheid. The book is widely available in bookstores and through the Minuteman Library Network.
The discussion will take place at a private home in Newton. Registration is required, using this form. Location will be provided to registrants before May 4. We will gather at 5:30 pm for snacks; discussion will begin at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to invite friends, but each individual needs to fill out a separate registration form.
Haven’t already read the book? It is widely available in bookstores, in libraries, and in audio and e-book forms.
